LinkedIn Launches Apply With LinkedIn Button For Company Websites

Hunting for a new job is not always the most pleasant experience in the world. It can often be stressful, time-consuming and difficult. Thankfully, LinkedIn has just made the process a whole lot faster and easier with the launch of the new Apply With LinkedIn button for websites.
From now on, any time that you see the button on a company website or on LinkedIn itself, you will be able to apply for the job that is being advertised just by clicking it. You will then have the chance to edit your LinkedIn profile before submitting your application or you can make the process faster by hitting the one-click Submit Application button. By clicking this button, your public LinkedIn profile data will either be automatically sent to the employer or be used to populate the online application form for the job. You will receive a confirmation of your application submission immediately.

You will also be prompted with a list of your LinkedIn connections that you can use to boost your chances of getting hired — LinkedIn says that referrals are the top source of external hires at companies. If you do not know anyone at the company, LinkedIn will suggest people who may be able to introduce you to an employee at the company. Additionally, you will be able to use the Saved Jobs tab on the LinkedIn website to manage all of your applications.

The button can be embedded on any website and for companies that are looking to hire new employees, it should be faster and easier to screen candidates. The applications can be routed to anything from an email address to a Web application to help manage them. The button can also be integrated with Applicant Tracking Systems with just a few lines of code. It can be customized so that the company can ask the candidate up to 3 questions before they submit their application. The button has been launched on more than 1,000 company websites already, including Photobucket, Netflix and TripIt.
The button, which was rumored to be in the works last month, should speed up the entire recruitment process as you will not have to fill out a fresh application for each job you wish to apply for and companies can start to receive applications seconds after the job listing goes live. However, it might make things a little too straightforward for some. If someone is in dire need of employment, they may end up clicking Apply With LinkedIn on dozens of job listings, even ones that they are nowhere close to being qualified for.
The Apply With LinkedIn button follows on from the roll out of targeted social ads, a section for college students and recent graduates being added to profiles and an API for LinkedIn Groups being launched.
If you are a developer who would like to implement the Apply With LinkedIn button on a company website, you can find out how to do so at LinkedIn’s developer website.
