Facebook just announced on Tuesday that the new WordPress plugin for integrating your blog into Facebook has arrived! This new Facebook plugin seamlessly integrates your blog into your Facebook timeline. This new plugin is available for WordPress.org and WordPress.com VIP members.
“The plugin was built by Facebook engineers in collaboration with open source partners, and makes it simple for anyone to make their WordPress site more social – no coding required,” Facebook engineer Matt Kelly said in a blog post that introduced the plugin to the masses.
The plugin is easy to set up on your WordPress blog. You need to make a Facebook app, but the plugin gives you step-by-step instructions on how to make the app. If you have already made iFrames for your Facebook in the past, then you may already have a Facebook app, which makes it that much easier to implement the plugin!
Widgets are also available for the new WordPress plugin. An activity feed widget is available for show your Facebook activity on your WordPress blog, and a suggestion widget is also available that suggests new timelines and pages to your readers. A handy comment box is a great new widget that allows people to cross post on your blog to Facebook.
This plugin is a great addition to your WordPress blog because, not only will it save you time by automatically integrating your blog posts into your Facebook page, but it will also make your blog more social. Comments will be integrated into your Facebook page and friends can now be tagged easily by administrators in the plugin. This allows you to mention individuals or pages, and the mentions show up automatically in the post! So easy! Now everyone can be apart of the conversation!
Another great feature of this Facebook for WordPress plugin is that the comments that people make can be indexed by search engines, meaning that they can play a major role in your SEO! Social Media really is taking over SEO, and if you are not on the bandwagon, now is the time to integrate your website and blog into Social Media!
