Instagram’s popularity hasn’t waned, even after Facebook bought it back in April. In fact, the migration has spawned new users, and now those notifications are showing up in your Facebook feed.
So, as we post our filtered photos for our friends and the world to see, the “likes” and comments continue to grow. But have you ever wondered just how much?
Previously, you had to use a web service like Statigram to get that data. This is no longer the case with the launch of Instafy.
Once you log in to your Instagram account in the app, you can see your profile photo, number of photos, followers and those account you’re following. Tap on the “Instafy Me” button to open a menu with three options: Stats, Collage and Facebook Cover.
The Stats view will have three different image types for you: a hybrid with your four most popular photos and stats, photos only and stats only. Once you make your selection, Instafy will download the data to create the image. Your most popular photos will display the number of likes received. Your stats will also include information like total likes, average likes, comments and average comments.
If you’ve used Statigram, then you’ll probably be disappointed by the lack of other information, such as follower growth and lost followers. You also can’t search and bring up the first photo you took or which photo received the most comments (just likes), which is a shame.
The Collage option allows you to create one of six different types of collages with your most popular photos. You can show off four at a time or go up to 16 at once. There are different collage types that will display your most popular photo. You can also toggle a border for your collage.
The final option is to create a Facebook Cover photo of your most popular photos. This process takes a few minutes, but it will display more of your work. It will also be perfectly formatted for use on your Facebook Timeline.
There are a few sharing options for photos you’ve created inside the app. You can save to your Camera Roll, send via email or Instagram (for Stats and Collage only).
Aside from some crashes and other glitches, the app runs well for the most part. Overall, this is a nifty app if you’re looking for basic stats about your Instagram account.
