If you’ve got a YouTube channel you can now turn it into a website in minutes with VidCaster, a fun platform that launched last year to let content creators easily publish and distribute video content online. This week VidCaster announced a cool new integration with YouTube that lets you automatically create a custom video website featuring all of your YouTube videos and the best part is, it’s free!
How does it work? Just head over to VidCaster.com/youtube to get started. You’ll be asked to connect to your YouTube channel, choose a template, add your logo, confirm your VidCaster domain and – voila! – your very own video website will be created.
Your VidCaster site is automatically synced to your YouTube channel, meaning that every time you upload a new video it will be added to your website without any action on your part (as long as they’re listed as “public”). You can also manually add videos from other YouTube channels. There are no bandwidth or storage limitations because all of your video is stored on YouTube and the service is entirely free. Users are only required to pay $20 per year if they want to host their VidCaster site on a personal custom domain.
Kieran Farr, CEO and co-founder of VidCaster, says, “YouTube is home to an amazing amount of video content and now the owners of that content can easily create their own branded destination sites. And because VidCaster Free automatically syncs with a YouTube channel, no maintenance is required beyond the initial setup.”
Another great thing about the VidCaster Free plan is that it includes basic video SEO so your site will be more likely to show up in search results on sites like Google. Farr explains, “If you take a YouTube embed code and just paste it into, say, a blog post, search engines actually don’t know that it’s a video so users searching for your video will have a hard time finding it. With our automatic video SEO, that’s not something you have to worry about – it just works.”
