Whichever way you look at it, 2011 was a huge year.
It had more than a little of everything: the Japanese earthquake and tsunami, political scandal and revolution, the deaths of several major celebrities and tech giants, the farce that was President Obama’s birth certificate, a Royal Wedding, the raid on Osama Bin Laden (and Colonel Gaddafi), the ‘Rapture’, the final space shuttle mission, Google+, the London riots, Facebook Timeline, a new iPhone, a world population of 7 billion and, uh, Rebecca Black.
And all of it was documented on Twitter – live, and in real-time.
