Redesigned SoundCloud Apps Include Playlists

SoundCloud has released new versions of its iPhone and Android apps for recording and sharing audio tracks.

The most noteworthy change is the addition of “sets,” which are basically playlists that listeners can curate and share. A new search filter will make the sets from other community members easier to discover.

This feature was previously available only on the desktop.

To make room for this and other features, the “record” button has been moved to the “more” menu for iPhone users and the side bar for Android users.

iPhone users will also see that the interface has been redesigned and the app icon has changed.

Users can download version 2.5 on Google Play and the Apple App Store. The company added that updates for iPad are coming soon.
