YouTube Offers $15,000 In Equipment & Promotion To Promising Vloggers

Video blogging, known commonly as vlogging, is one of the most popular video formats on YouTube.  Popular YouTubers like Philip DeFranco and iJustine have made names for themselves sitting in front of a camera and talking about everything from politics to video games, music, movies, life and more.  Now YouTube is on the hunt for 16 of the next great YouTube vloggers.

Yesterday on the YouTube blog, Global YouTube Creator Program Managers Austin Lau and Bing Chen announced YouTube Next Vlogger.  YouTube Next Vlogger is a follow-up to similar programs like YouTube Next Chef and YouTube Next Trainer.  Lau and Chen write, “A few weeks ago, we asked YouTube creators what form of content we should tackle as part of our Next Creator program, a development initiative to help promising creators find their voices, improve their skills, and build their audiences.  You resoundingly responded with calls for YouTube Next Vlogger.”
YouTube creators in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, the UK and the US are invited to apply for YouTube Next Vlogger through April 18 on the Creator Hub.  The sixteen most promising bloggers will be selected to take part in three months of educational workshops via Google+ Hangouts, and will also receive $5,000 worth of new video equipment and $10,000 worth of promotion.  Not too shabby, eh?
Do you think you’ll be applying for YouTube Next Vlogger?  If so, good luck and may the best vloggers win!
