Sky Go app hits iPhone and iPad

Sky Go is in the Apple App Store. You can now watch and record Sky TV on your iPhone or iPad wherever you are, live as nature intended and all in plenty of time for the start of the football season next month.
The Sky Go app lets you watch selected Sky channels live, with the option to pause and rewind live telly. There's an electronic programme guide to show what else is on, and that EPG has a little TV window in the corner so you can keep watching what you're currently viewing as you look for something more exciting.

Sky Go combines Sky's previous portable services, the Web-based Sky Player and 3G phone-based Sky Mobile TV. You can register two devices, so you can watch football on your iPad in bed or on your iPhone under the table when you're supposed to be paying attention at work.
Tablets and phones are limited to slightly fewer channels than computers, but include all the Sky Sports channels, ESPN and Sky News. You also get access to the Premiere, Showcase, Action and Family Sky Movie channels.

Desktop computers or laptops can watch 30 channels, including all five Sky Sports channels, ESPN, Sky News, Sky Movies, Sky News, Sky 1, Sky Atlantic, Sky Arts, MTV, Disney, GOLD, Nickelodeon, NatGeo, History, Eden and ESPN. Sky is also available on the Xbox 360, where Sky Player has been rebranded to just plain ol' Sky.
Other Sky apps include the gorgeous Sky News app, the Football Score Centre app, and the Sky+ Remote Record app, which lets you control your Sky+ box and set it to record a programme even if you're out.
Sky Go is available from the iTunes App Store. It's free, and free to watch if you're a Sky customer -- just sign in with your Sky username and password. If you don't have a dish you can still watch Sky Go for £15 per month.
