Foursquare Updates BlackBerry App, Adds New User Interface, Daily Deals And More

Foursquare has rolled out an update to its BlackBerry app that means you will now be able to take advantage of a new user interface, a daily deals feature, personalized recommendations and more.
The user interface of the app has been completely overhauled. Everything from the check-in screen to the friends list has been revamped. The update also allows you to take advantage of local daily deals from partners including LivingSocial and BuyWithMe — partnerships that we revealed last week.
In addition, you will be able to view personalized recommendations. These will be populated from your previous check-ins, your friends’ check-ins and the entire Foursquare community. All you have to do is search for things that you want (say, for instance, a burrito) or just tap an activity such as “drink” or “food.” Of course, you can always tap the “Specials” buttons to see which nearby specials best match your needs. Lastly, the app now includes a full leaderboard so you can see how you are doing compared with your friends.

Foursquare recently rolled out updates to its iPhone and Android apps that included a notification tray. So it is a little surprising that the feature has not been included in the BlackBerry update. However, I would imagine that the notification tray is on the way soon. Also, Foursquare promises that BBM integration will be arriving soon too.
To check out the latest version of the Foursquare app, you can download it on your BlackBerry device now.
